Idea formed in 1990, incorporated in 1990 and functioning as a multispecialty and trauma center hospital in the district of Kasaragod since 1994. The Hospital started functioning in the year 1994 with 2 floors and only 35 beds. With a handful of doctors.Started as a Private Limited Company by the Name of Carewell Hospital and Research Centre Private Limited, of which Carewell Hospital is a unit.

During the period of its functioning from 1994-2001, Carewell hospital progressed in to fully fledged multi-specialty hospital with 150 beds.As there was a very good response to the initial setup established, Next step was taken to expand the hospital to 2 more floors in 2002, updating the facility to a well-equipped multi-specialty hospital.

As a step to modernize, the establishment has since 2020 been involved in improving its services by introducing new equipment’s and facelifting of physical infrastructure. Operation theatre complex and ICU also underwent a complete overhaul and was converted into a state-of-the-art modular Operation theatre complex and ICU encompassing Medical, Coronary care and Surgical ICU with HEPA filters and AHU.
